Four sessions, with a suggested 60-minute group meeting in the leader guide. Preparation and any work between meetings are extra; no fixed homework time is promised. Choose Plain or Styled, in A4 or US Letter. You only need one version of each guide.

What your first meeting could look like

Before meeting, the leader reads Colossians 1:1–23, participant pages 4–8 and leader pages 2–5. Participants use the workbook; the separate leader guide helps the facilitator prepare. This outline follows the supplied 60-minute rhythm.

  1. Welcome and read — 15 minutes. Remind everyone they can pass, then read Colossians 1:1–23 aloud and in context.
  2. Notice and explore — 18 minutes. Notice what Paul thanks God for, what he prays for, and what the passage says about the Son. Use the teaching focus and cross-references on leader page 5.
  3. Discuss — 15 minutes. Choose two of the supplied questions. For example: Which statement about the Son most enlarges my view of Jesus? How does Paul’s prayer challenge knowledge without practice?
  4. Write, respond and close — 12 minutes. The supplied practice is to copy Colossians 1:15–20 slowly and turn it into prayer. Decide what to begin in the meeting and what to finish afterwards. Close with prayer and any appropriate follow-up.

Adapted from leader pages 4–5 and participant pages 4–8. This is an example of using the included material, not an extra course or a promise that every group will finish in an hour.

How to use it

Four weeks in a short letter with a towering theme: Christ is enough. A study for anyone tempted to add something to the gospel. Each weekly session follows a gentle rhythm — read the passage, observe what it says, reflect, discuss, and pray — with a separate leader guide for whoever is facilitating. Choose one participant PDF for your paper size and preferred style. Leaders also use the matching leader guide. Start with participant pages 2–3, then Session 1 on pages 4–8; the leader’s Session 1 plan is on page 5. The ZIP includes a start-here file with a four-session page map. These are print-and-write PDFs, without interactive typing fields. Styled covers feature a light olive-tree illustration; Plain White files are also included. Prepare the weekly passage before your meeting and use the writing spaces at your own pace. Finish in four meetings using participant page 24 during Session 4’s writing and prayer time; the extra closing meeting is optional.
