This four-week study follows the traditional themes — hope, peace, joy and love — from the prophets who longed for a coming King, through Mary and the angel, to the shepherds and the manger. Each week opens a passage, works through discussion and reflection, and closes with a prayer for the week, so the season has at least one quiet thread running through it. The included King James booklet contains selected excerpts. Advent includes guidance for preparation, personal reflection and the group meeting.
